After spending a long time in the computer industry I’ve found that it happens all too often that people are much too quick to write of their computers as broken, cart them off to be fixed, only to pay a bucket of cash for something extremely simple and could have been easily taken care of if a little bit of time had been taken to figure out the problem. So I created this site to help the average computer user diagnose simple problems themselves before calling in the techs and paying through the nose, and also a few tidbits to help reduce costs in the case that repair is needed.
These solutions require extremely little technical knowhow and are meant to help you make sure that your problem is actually a problem and not just something being plugged in the wrong way. It is amazing how many times I’ve seen a computer taken in for a problem when the only issue was it was just incorrectly set up.
Finally, if your computer does need to be taken in, I have compiled a list of computer repair shops for a given area. I checked to see which cities searched for computer repair the most and started with them, but in the future I hope to add more.
I hope that this site is useful to you and if it even saves you a dollar or 5 minutes of your time, then it’s a success to me.
